Jonas has receive more and more memories from The Giver like color and starts to question why the community will have the concept of "Sameness", and why would they don't know what color is. Since he really liked color he wanted to transfer the memory to his firmed Asher but he knew it wasn't possible, then he receive the memory of an animal being killed , an elephant. Time passes and Jonas starts to realize about the importance of memories and how important they have become for The Giver and will become to him, The memories are basically their lives, everything they know is the memories they have , everything they dedicate to are the memories, without the memories The Giver saids everything would be meaningless. Jonas then realises that The Giver is feeling pain, but why? Then he knew that it was because of the painful memories and Jonas wanted to help, so he took away some memories like hunger and war, it was very painful also to Jonas. Then in his home Jonas mother talks about the problem of having twins, there weren't allow to live in the community both of them so one of the twins was going to be release. One night at his home Jonas decide to take care of baby Gabe and while he was crying Jonas pass the memory of a lake to baby Gabe, but how? In one day of training he received the memory of Christmas, family, grandparents but most importantly love.
"Love", The Giver told him.
Jonas repeated it. "Love". It was a word and concept new to him.
They were both silent for a minute. Then Jonas said,
"Giver?"
"Yes"
"I feel very foolish saying this. Very, very foolish".
"No need. Nothing is foolish here. Trust the memories and how they make you feel."
I can make lots of predictions with this quote, but most of all with how Jonas will start to feel. Since he stopped taking the pills and he really is thinking about this world "Love", I believe he will feel this for Fionna,he will feel love and fall in love with her. I predict that Jonas will be different and I believe he IS different from the previous Receivers, he dosent only have the ability to see beyond but he also has the ability to change things and he is already doing it, now there is not only two persons that have this memories which would be The Giver and The Receiver but also baby Gabriel, with Jonas the community will start to know the truth what war is,what hunger feels like, what family means (grandparents) and they will know what love is and once they know it they would want to see it for themselves.
Finally I do think this memories and Jonas way of thinking will change the whole community. He is a a unic kid, that does have the ability to see beyond and wil keep seeing beyond but not only with the memories but with the real world.

The First Memory
Isabela Bermeo
8-E
Recently in the book The Giver, Jonas the protagonist just has been selected for being the Reciever of Memories, a ver honorable job, but at the same time quite scary. Every twelve has began his or her asssignment training very happy and tell lots of experiences about it, but Jonas is not allow to say anything about his training to anyone. The first day of his training Jonas met The Giver, which has been the previous Reciever and told Jonas about all the memories and just mentioned the memory of snow...
The Giver then pass the memory of snow to Jonas and he loved it! Then he pass the memory of sunshine he loved it too but then he experience a sunburn, all this memories now belong to Jonas, but he is starting to wonder, why in his community their is none of this stuff? And again Jonas saw a "change" like with the apple and thee faces, but now he saw it in Fionnas hair. He asked The Giver about it and The Giver told him that he is starting to see COLOR, and now The Giver is gonna pass Jonas the memory of a rainbow...
Jonas just recieve the rules he must follow to become the Reciever of Memories and they seem to be very shocking specially rules number 4, 5 and 8. This rules talk about not telling about the training to anyone, do not do the ritual of dream-telling and he is now allow to lie. I predict that because he is a very special boy an d of course very smart he is going to make the difference, I believe all this rules have been wroten so he willl not rebell anything about his job, but what will he know and recieve that no one else may know? And that is how he will make the change, he will lies about following all this rules and he will want the community he lives in to experience all the pleasures of life like snow, sunshines, rainbows, colors! But most importanly know why they are trap in such perfect community. Jonas will stop this lie they are all living in and start introducing to them the real world.
I do believe that after Jonas knowing everything about the past and present and secrets of the world, he will not want to keep his mouth shut and he will want to do something with what he knows and theres is when I predict the previous Reciever who run away will show up. I predict they are both going to confront the Group of Elders and are going to let the people have some individuality for themselves, get to know the real world. I do believe that by Jonas recieving all the memories of the world he will recieve those painful memories like wars, strikes, rebellions, poor people and deaths.

The Giver chapter 6-8
Isabela Bermeo
8-E
6-12-14
Summary:
In these last chapters they talk about the ceremonys and the objects that they have gave to each child to represent they are growing. Also they talk about what happened to baby Gabe, who was sent to a place call "Elsewhere" so he will never return to the community. They did a ceremony to replace a child go died because he felt to a river, Jonas is finally going to assign to a job. In the ceremony while giving the assignments they skipped Jonas number for a very important reason, he felt very confuse, ashamed and afraid for what will happen and if he will be assign to a job. Finally at the end of the ceremony they called Jonas and told him he was "selected" to be the Receiver of Memories.
Text Response:
When the Chief Elder called Jonas after the ceremony ended and said, "Jonas has not being assigned, she informed the crowd and his heart sank.
Then she went on. Jonas has been selected." I was really confuse with what that meant. I was starting to question what exactly was going on and what did the word "selected" meant? I predict that this assignment he has been selected for will give him that knowledge to discover those mysteries and secrets the community carries, he will answer questions, no one know the answer to and as the Chief Elder said, the Receivers have the ability to see beyond, and thats what he will do.
Final Thoughts:
Finally I do believe that this is the beginning of the stage or part of his life that he will become smarter. Since he is going to receive training to become strong and brave, he will have the courage to face any danger that threats him and he will be able to answer all the questions he has. He will introduce the truth to the community, I believe that they are living in a lie, because nothing is so perfect as it seems and he will be the first one to recognize that. As the Receiver of Memories I predict he will receive those moments and thoughts, ideas, events and all kinds of clues and hints so he can see beyond the society and start to see the real world.
Watch this video so you could have an idea of what a perfect society well organize looks like!

Start of The Giver
Start of The Giver...
Isabela Bermeo
27-11-14
I think the book The Giver is gonna be about a perfect community, but not as perfect as it seems. Jonas, the protagonist is a very smart kid that I believe is going to become even smarter. Since the beginning of the book something has being weird like the airplane problem and realizing thing. Jonas is going to receive clues about what exactly what is going on in his community and see who and what is behind all this mystery about this "perfect" society.
I think this statement means that we all teenagers and kids are the future of the world. What Lowry meant when he wrote that, I believe that it was a message for all of us that are gonna be the adults in a possible future. Probably what he wants to tell us is that he are responsible for the Worlds future and we should learn how to take care of it and make our society a good society. Many authors and histories are about the future and sometimes they are bad and sometimes they are good, but there is always this problem about technology and the perfect society, what he wants to tell us is that we as humans in a future when we grow older should be able to be smart and intelligent about what happens around us and be able to do smart decisions so we can our community and free and nice community.
What I predict that will happen in the book is that Jonas is going to very frequently ask himself about this realizing they do in his community. With the pass of time and as he grows older he will receive some hints and clues to realize that something about the way and where he lives in is wrong. He will search for answers with his friends and even go to the outside world and then come back to realize that the society they lived in wasn't so perfect as they thought and will un cover all secrets.

First chapters, first actions and questions...
The Giver
First chapters, actions and questions....
By: Isabela Bermeo
Summary
What is going on right now in the book The Giver is that fisrt they seem to live in a perfect world in which everything is perfectly controled for everything and everyone. I can realize that the society they live in, is not a normal society with difficulties but instead is just a society with no kinds of trouble were everyone is perfectly placed were they should be, with the family they should be, with the job they belong and everything is just the way it should be, but there is also this thing they have about releasing people. I can guess from what I have read that if someone doesnt follow everything in the community like they are suppose to then they will be release which means that they may be kick out or even get killed in order they never get back to the community so everything is still perfect as it should be. I can predict that Jonas is a unic boy because of his eyes and also his personality and way of thinking, he will be able to get to the bottom of this perfect society he lives in.
My reading strategy here would be Questioning.
Quote; "Two children, one male, one female to each family unit. It was written very clearly in the rules."
My question is, Why families can only have one female and one male as their children, are they even from birth? This quote inspire me to do this question because i dont understand why the rules are being so strict and why do childrens don't know who their birth mothers are if they are not the ones they were raised with and possibly because of what I have continued reading there are this bithmothers which give their children to the community, many children can have lots of lots of brothers and sisters they don't even know and why would this birthmothers would give their children so easily? This book has made me feel very curious about what could happen and made do lots of connections with other books and movies with Dystopia. One of the connnections I have made is with the book and movie of Divergent, I can connect with this book because they also have a perfect community controlled and safe, they are all given his jobs because of what they like and what they should be in the future.
Conclusion Paragraph
The Giver so far has been a great, interesting and very exciting book that has bring lots of questions, predictions and connections to my mind. I do believe that after Jonas gets his assignment something will change maybe with his family, friends or even his own life. I do believe that Jonas will not think as the other kids and adults that the community they lived in is just perfect as it seem and I can tell that because Jonas has already began to question things about his community like the apple and I am sure that's not gonna be the only time he notices something. Finally I really like this book and I am exciting to keep reading and see what happens.
